What a Birthday

So where do I start to begin. On Wed the 30th of June Michael was not feeling very well all he did was sleep he really did not eat but maybe twice that day. He had a fever all day so I knew he was not feeling well anytime I would pick him up to burp him or move him in anyway he would just cry in pain. So that night we gave him very very little Motrin and I told Mike we should take him in he said lets wait the fever out. So on the first of July which happened to be my birthday I knew something was wrong with Michael so I made the choice to take him in to the doctor to see whatwas going on. His Doctor was not in town at the time. The doctor that seen him said we needed to get him in to the hospital within 5 min she ordered a blood test, urine sample, and a spinal tap. SO I called Mike up and told him he had to come home from work because I was taking Michael to the Emergency Room at Davis. My poor baby was in so much pain they had to put an IV in his head. We had to wait there to find out what the results were from the spinal tap and it came back positive for Bacterial Meningitis. At that point we had a decision to make to either have him admitted to Davis Hospital or up to Primary Children's we took the better route and had him admitted at Primary Children's Hospital. So they transported us in an ambulance and Mike followed behind us.In the mean time I was ableto get ahold of my mom at work and she was able to comepick the girls up for Davis Hospital they stayed with them. They had a team of three doctors come in and check him out they had to give him Tylenol about every 4 hours because of his high fevers. All of his tests came back negative for any meningitis so they ruled it out even though they were treating him for it. So on Friday evening since there was nothing more they can do, we were still waiting on some test results im not sure if we every got them results back. So they let us go home. We still had to watch him because he still had a fever and was still very sore. SO then on Saturday he finally broke the fever and was doing better. We called on the blood test and it came back negative so we were very happy we did not have to take him back in for any other test. We still don't know what he had we just know that it was not fun. Pictures soon to come. Davis Hospital Davis Hospital Davis Hospital Primary Children's Hospital Primary Children's Hospital
