Family Business
Rocky Mountain Distributing has been a part of Mike’s Family for 50 Years. Mike’s Grandpa started the business and was the oldest siding distributor in the West. Back in 1993 the company was taken over by Mike’s dad Mike Sr. Mike & George started working with there dad when mike was 12 years old. When Mike and I got married he was still working there it was not until we were married for a year when mike had to find another job. (Since I was not working and to make up for the income) that is when he started working at Cracker Barrel. Mike had to leave the family business in 2005 since they were not doing so well. His brother George was trying to hold out since that was his only job. In Dec of 2007 George had to find another job and leave the business behind it was a had thing for both of the boys to do. And so it was taken away and sold at an Auction on the 28th of July. The business next to him bought the property. So we were down there on the 28th trying to help get everything out we still have a long ways to go. That business was meant for mike and George to take over when there dad retired. We are sad to see it go it had been a part of mike for 30 years since the day he was born. He has enjoyed working with his dad and brother working side by side as a team. There dad was not able to keep up with everything. No one was buying siding so there was no other choice.
